Further seven Tendring car parks given awards in safety scheme
A further seven car parks within Tendring have been awarded the prestigious Safer Parking Scheme's Park Mark award.
The Tendring District Council (TDC) facilities have pass the rigorous risk assessment conducted by the police and the British Parking Association that ensures measures are in place to reduce vehicle crime and the fear of crime in car parks. Each car park is assessed on the quality of lighting, cleanliness, security measures and quality management, to give an overall review of safety.
The car parks which have received the award in the 2021 phase two review are: Victoria Place, Brightlingsea; High Street, Wellesley Road, Hazlemere Road, Alton Park Road, and Martello car parks in Clacton; and Church Road, Walton-on-the-Naze.
Michael Talbot, TDC Cabinet Member responsible for car parks, said the accreditation showed what quality amenities they were. “All who use our car parks, residents and visitors, can have confidence in them knowing that these sites have the Park Mark,” Councillor Talbot said. “I am pleased to have these awards renewed, and once again my thanks go to our Parking Services team for their hard work in maintaining high standards.”
The seven Park Mark awards are in addition to eight renewed in a phase one review earlier in the year, bringing the total held by council car parks to 15.
