Dacorum Borough Council decorated with Park Mark award

Posted in Latest Awards by ParkMark at 15:00 on 2nd of February 2023

Dacorum Borough Council`s Park Mark car parks at Langley Hill, The Forge and Park Road have all been reaccredited having demonstrated the highest standards across their operations.

Park Mark is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme, which is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association. Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage, and cleanliness. All these are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and thus create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.

Car parks with the Park Mark® award can use signage featuring the distinctive Park Mark® tick so that drivers know exactly where to go for safe parking. Facilities that have received this award have seen a drop in vehicle-related crime of over 80%.

Dan Rodger, Dacorum Borough Council Parking Services Team Leader said:

I am delighted that Dacorum Borough Council car parks at Langley Hill, The Forge, and Park Road have once again been awarded Park Mark accreditation. We are proud to support the Park Mark award initiative and are pleased to provide safer and welcoming car parks to all our visitors across the borough.

Antony Powell, BPA Area Manager said: “I am delighted that the Dacorum Borough Council car parks at The Forge, Langley Hill, and Park Road have once again retained their Park Mark accreditation. These facilities are just three of the twenty-five Dacorum Borough Council car parks that are on the scheme. These awards demonstrate the Council's hard work and commitment to providing a safer environment for its visitors.”
